
Wang Keping was born in Beijing
in 1949. In 1979, he took part in the Beijing Spring Democracy Movement. He is
a founder of the Stars Group (Xing Xing 星星),
China’s first avant garde art group following the Cultural Revolution. In
September 1979, the The Stars Group (Xing Xing 星星)
organized the first non-conformist art exhibition on the gates of the National
Art Museum of China in Beijing. It had a great impact in China. He has been
living and working in Paris since 1984. HISTORICAL
