The Hammer Biennial MADE IN L.A.2012 includes work by 60 artists, shown at three locations across the city: the Hammer Museum in Westwood, LAXART in the Culver City art district, and the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery at Barnsdall Park in Los Feliz.’

Imagine for a brief moment, that the world’s last five remaining communist countries decided to unite forces and hire the world’s top advertising agencies to re-brand and create a resurgence in the ideologies of Communism? Television Commercial for Communism [TVCC] embarks to re-position our relationship to current global economics and socio-politics by getting the world’s leading advertising companies to pitch their most radical ideas to re-brand Communism.

"In a creepy one-minute television commercial, slick production values try to rebrand failed communist ideology, selling it to a new century. Using capitalism’s most powerful medium to achieve this contradictory project ends up illuminating — and irradiating — both. The lilting commercial’s cheerful tag line, “Everyone’s welcome,” might send you fleeing the room in horror. The Propeller Group is not to be confused with various ad agencies of the same name — or maybe it is, given their cunning approach." - The Hammer biennial ‘Made in L.A. 2012′ succeeds, By Christopher Knight, Los Angeles Times Art Critic, June 8, 2012
